BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Texas Department of Transportation reached out to KTXS Thursday to clarify statements they made concerning their proposed Hwy 377 road expansion in Brownwood.

TxDOT told KTXS Wednesday they planned to demolished three homes between Whaley and Gill streets as part of a proposed project to add a center turn lane on Hwy 377.

The lane would go from Lipscomb Street to Austin Avenue.

But, the agency sought to clarify its intentions on Thursday.

"We do not yet know what those specific impacts will entail regarding the actual housing structures," said Andrew Carlson, spokesman for TxDOT's Brownwood office. "We are still in the very early stages of planning."

Carlson said TxDOT will hold additional meetings in the future on the proposed road expansion.
