War Hawks take experience into final stretch of season

ABILENE, Texas - McMurry football is in its final two weeks of the season after suffering a shut-out loss to the nations' best in UMHB last Saturday.

Now, it's back to work with a final road test against East Texas Baptist - a team they're confident in beating. But last week's game, despite a loss, serves as a learning experience for where the war hawk program strives to be.

"That's four and five years of everyday, living in that weight room," McMurry head coach Lance Hinson said of his address to the team after Saturday's loss. "But of course there are positives to take away - mainly how our defense was able to apply pressure.

This weekend, the programs final road trip takes them to ETBU, a program that returns some familiar vibes from when the War Hawks faced Texas Lutheran earlier this season.

"There are things that we're seeing that's similarity-wise to what we do in the way we'll go and attack ETBU," said Hinson. "These guys are still confident and again, it's about winning this one."

McMurry and ETBU will kick-off at 2 p.m.
