Abilene City Council to vote on rezoning across from Wylie H.S.

ABILENE, Texas - Abilene City Council will now have the final say in the rezoning of property across from Wylie High School.

The proposal would allow for patio homes, multi-family homes, and neighborhood offices to be built in an area off of Antilley Road and Buffalo Gap Road.

Abilene Planning and Zoning Commission approved the rezoning, allowing for the development, Monday.

About a dozen residents from an adjacent neighborhood were at the meeting to voice their opposition to the move.

On the other side of the property in question is a new apartment complex, which is currently under construction.

A date has not yet been set for the council to vote on the rezoning request.
