Abilene fair encourages healthy living, eating
ABILENE, Texas - People had the chance to eat healthy and get physically fit Saturday.
That was at the Community Garden Dedication and Resource Fair.
There was free food, giveaways, live music and a Zumba workshop.
The event was sponsored by the mayor's council on physical fitness.
"We saw the need of having access to healthy foods, having fresh fruits and vegetables," said Veronica Escalona, with Texas Healthy Communities. "It's very important to have a healthy diet."
There was even a gardening basics workshop to teach people how to grow their own fresh food.
