Abilene Fire Department rescues 5 from cars in flood waters

ABILENE, Texas - Abilene Fire Department has conducted three water rescues since 9 p.m. Thursday.

According to a news release from Lt. Mike Miller, AFD assisted the driver of a vehicle in the first rescue.

Then firefighters helped get "four females to dry ground."

Miller said there was no one in the car on the third call.

Remember, turn around. Don't drown. It takes just 12-inches of rushing water to carry away a small car.
