Abilene man arrested for child porn posts bail, finds ‘burglar’ in home

Wesley James

ABILENE, Texas -- Wesley James had a bad day.

Arrested on child porn charges and then released after posting bail, the 32-year-old James arrived at his north Abilene home late Tuesday to find a friend inside without his permission.

According to police, James said the friend had stacked his game consoles and unplugged “like the subject was going to take them” from the residence in the 2000 block of Delwood Drive in north Abilene.

In a police report, James said the subject shouldn’t have been in the residence without his permission.

No items were taken, but police told James to contact them if he had additional information.

James had been arrested for distribution of child pornography. His roommate, 24-year-old Jacob Kelly, was arrested for possession of child pornography and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police executed a search warrant at Kelly and James’ Delwood Drive home and found “numerous devices containing child pornography.”

Police said Kelly – who is a registered sex offender -- also admitted to having sex with an unknown underage female.

James remained in Taylor County Jail on Wednesday on bonds totaling $45,000 each.
