Abilene students receive incentive checks for outstanding test scores
ABILENE, Texas - High school students from around Abilene saw their hard work pay off Tuesday, literally. Checks for various amounts were presented to students at Abilene and Cooper high schools and ATEMS as incentive for their exceptional scores on last school year's Advanced Placement and PSAT exams. The checks were given as part of Abilene ISD's College Prep Initiative program, which has been funded by the Dodge Jones Foundation and Dian Graves-Owen Foundation for the last 15 years. In 2016, 350 students received a total amount of more than $110,000.
