ABILENE, Texas - An Abilene man was indicted for his alleged role in a spree of BB gun vandalism that affected more than 150 people in July 2014.

Nineteen-year-old Taquan Brown was indicted for state jail felony criminal mischief Thursday at the Taylor County Courthouse.

According to court records, 161 reports of BB gun vandalism were reported to Abilene police. The reports indicated that suspects were traveling throughout the city using a BB gun to shoot at windows and other objects.

Brown agreed to be questioned by police, according to police documents, and he made a written statement in which he admitted to being in a truck with other individuals while driving around to shoot out windows.

Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge said the damage was estimated to be more than $20,000.

Four people were arrested, including Brown.
