Abilene woman indicted for crash that ejected child
ABILENE, Texas - An Abilene woman was indicted for intoxicated assault and driving while intoxicated with a child after a 2015 crash that sent a child to the street.
Letrisha Hernandez, 22, was allegedly driving south on Catclaw Drive on June 21, 2015 when she lost control of her SUV, swerved off the road, and crashed into a utility pole, according to police.
Upon impact, Hernandez's 2-year-old son was thrown from the car while still strapped to a child car seat, police said.
Hernandez was found at the scene and was interviewed by police, and she was then taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated.
The child was treated for significant injuries at Hendrick Medical Center.
