ACU Wildcats make good use of summer
ABILENE, TX - The college sports season may be over, but the offseason is equally as busy. Just ask the folks at ACU.
Monday, the men's basketball program hosted youngsters for their second and final day camp of the summer. Now while it's a way for the team to give back and to promote ACU, it's also an extra resource for players.
New this season: off-season summer practices allowed by the NCAA. That makes the camps a way to have fun, but a chance for the Wildcats to work on their game too.
"With the new NCAA rules, we're allowed to practice in the summer, so our guys are here working out and getting better," said Associate head basketball coach Brette Tanner.
"We have four new guys trying to integrate themselves into this team, and so this is kind of a break from that for them throughout the day to kind of get away from the workouts and the weight room, and come do something fun," he said.
