Children's Art and Literacy Festival breaks records
ABILENE, Texas - The Children's Art and Literacy Festival had another record-breaking turnout this year.
The 5 th annual festival wrapped up Saturday night, and it was a success.
Sidney Levesque, the marketing director with the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council said 4,319 people registered for the festival this year.
That's a 14 percent increase from last year's 3,800 people.
The festival also had a higher number of out-of-town visitors.
They came from 97 Texas cities and eight other states.
The works of children's author Mark Teague were featured at this year's festival.
