The countdown has reached 26 days until the opening of the high school football preseason, and we continue Dave Campbell's look at Big Country districts, with class 4A.

In Division I, no change to district 3-4A. Wylie returns 28 varsity players after a deep run that saw the Bulldogs fall one game short of the state final in 2015, and Hugh Sandifer's bunch are primed again. Dion Novil, Brooks Pepper, and all-district cornerback- turned quarterback Zach Smith are ready to pick up the reins. Brownwood is also another threat at district, with new coach Kyle Maxfield from Shallowater. The regional finalists welcome back 23 letterman from a strong 2015 roster, including two-way threats Connor Howard and Devon Jefferson. Finally, Snyder is also with new coach. Cory Mandrell inherits a defensive heavy team this year with all-district standouts Jarrett Renau and Chris Depaz. Wide receiver Abram Smith will be the focal point of the Tiger offense, as they hope to right the ship in 2016.

Here's how Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine predicts district 3-4A DI:

Wylie Brownwood Stephenville Snyder Big Spring*

*= projected to miss playoff cut

Stay tuned to KTXS, as the sports staff continues through each district leading up to the start of the 2016 preseason.
