Dozens of residents in north Abilene without water after main break
ABILENE, Texas - Nearly forty residents in north Abilene were without water Friday afternoon when a water main near N. 7th broke.
The northbound lanes of N. 7th were closed while city crews tried to fix the water main break shortly after 6 p.m. Friday.
City officials explained nothing specific caused the break and that the pressure in the pipes built up causing the water to shoot through the pavement.
Water flooded the streets in the area of N. 7th and Pioneer.
City officials said they hope to have the water main break fixed by Friday evening.
