Police: Abilene man arrested in motorcyclist's death
ABILENE, Texas - After almost a year of investigation, an Abilene man was officially charged with manslaughter and criminal negligent homicide.
Daniel Patrick Jones, 41, is accused of purposely using his vehicle to strike and kill Robert Harrington on September 29, 2014 at the intersection of I-20 and Old Anson Road, according to police.
Taylor County Jail records state that Jones was arrested Wednesday. He remains in custody with bonds totaling $100,000.
Jones used his car as a deadly weapon and intended to use it to cause death or serious bodily injury, according to court documents, which led to the indictments against him.
Police questioned Jones the night of the accident, but released him due to lack of evidence and information.
