BRECKENRIDGE, Texas – One person was burned in a fire Monday morning that destroyed a house in Breckenridge.

A house in the 400 block of North Miller, across from the Breckenridge High School auditorium, caught fire around 7 a.m., according to the fire department.

Dwayne Dove, technology director for Breckenridge ISD, shot drone footage of the fire.

Chief Calvin Chaney said the home had to be torn down in order to extinguish the fire.

A person who lived there was burned on their back and “was transported to a burn center,” according to Chaney.

The fire department is not releasing the victim's name or condition.

“BFD’s thoughts and prayers are with the individual and their family,” said Chaney.
