The wreck happened early Saturday morning on I-20 about 4 miles west of Sweetwater.

Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden tells KTXS News that a Camaro driving in the fast lane of eastbound I-20 crashed just after midnight.

Madden says that an 18-wheeler traveling on I-20 hit the Camaro after it had crashed and ruptured a diesel tank, causing the truck to catch fire.

The driver of the Camaro was killed in the accident, according to Madden.

The driver of the 18-wheeler did not have any serious injuries.

Eastbound I-20 was closed and traffic was re-routed through Sweetwater while responders cleared debris from the road.

Sweetwater and Roscoe Volunteer Fire Departments both responded to the crash, as well as the Department of Public Safety, the Nolan County Sheriff's Office, Sweetwater Police Department, and TxDOT.
