Anson man re-indicted for 2016 murder in Abilene

Jared Dykes, 20, of Anson

A 20-year-old Anson man was re-indicted Thursday for murder in a nearly two-year old shooting death.

According to the indictment, Jared William Dean Dykes, 20, shot Roberto Cisneros in the chest during a fight in May 2016 at the Abilene North Apartments.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two witnesses identified Dykes as the person who shot Cisneros with a pistol.

Dykes was originally indicted for murder in August 2016. A motion to set aside that indictment was filed last November.

He remains in jail on bonds totaling $110,000.

Kobe Poston - the other suspect in the case -- pleaded guilty last year to aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

That sentence will run concurrent with the 15 years he received for pleading guilty to aggravated robbery in another case. In November 2015, Poston stole $20 and two cases of beer from an Abilene convenience store.
