Brownwood man arrested for selling marijuana near elementary school
BROWNWOOD, Texas - A Brownwood man is accused of selling marijuana near an elementary school.
Matthew Wilson, 29, is charged with delivery of marijuana under five pounds in a drug free zone.
According a news release, detectives with the Brownwood and Early police departments got a tip Friday about illegal drug activity in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive.
The area is a drug-free zone because Northwest Elementary School is located at 311 Bluffview Dr.
Detectives responded and observed what was believed to be drug trafficking. When they made contact with Wilson, police say he was attempting to sell approximately 1 pounds of marijuana.
The marijuana was seized and Wilson was arrested. He was released Saturday on $10,000 bond.
Brownwood police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
