Colorado City loses to West in softball 3A state final, 11-0
AUSTIN, Texas - The Colorado City Lady Wolves didn't get the storybook ending they were hoping for Thursday at the UIL 3A state softball final.
Despite Wednesday's victory against the the No. 1 ranked team in Texas, Brock, the Colorado City softball players were unable to beat West in the championship game held in Austin.
West took control of the game early and didn't give up a single run, winning the game with a score of 11 to nothing.
The Lady Wolves finish the year with a 33-9 record in the 5-3A District. This is the first year Colorado City made it to the semifinal and final rounds of softball playoffs.
To get to the finals, the Lady Wolves took down opponents Grape Creek, Breckenridge, Early, Shallowater, Clyde and Brock.
Five seniors from this season's roster will be leaving the team to leave two rising seniors for the 2017 season. Regardless of the result, the team was grateful for the chance to be in Austin to continue competing.
