Fire contained north of Ranger

RANGER, Texas - Firefighters are keeping a close eye on a fire north of Ranger.

Sam Williams, public information officer with the Eastland Fire Department, said a lightning strike likely started the fire on remote ranch land Saturday night.

Several fire departments worked that fire through Sunday night. It burned more than 400 acres.

The Texas Forest Service used bulldozers to contain that fire.

It's now 100 percent contained.

No homes or structures are at risk.
