Former Breckenridge teacher arrested for improper relationship
BRECKENRIDGE, Texas - A teacher at Llano High School was arrested for improper relationship between educator and student Friday, and now officials in Breckenridge, where she used to teach, are investigating a similar complaint.
According to a news release from the Llano Police Department, 28-year-old Clarissa Sue McDaniel was arrested following an investigation by the Llano County Sheriff's Department, the Texas Rangers, and the police department. She was charged with two counts of improper relationship between educator and student.
Details about the alleged crime were not available.
McDaniel had taught at Breckenridge High School until the end of the 2014-2015 school year, when she left to teach at Llano High School.
Tuesday, Breckenridge Police Chief Larry Mahan told the Breckenridge American that a parent filed an unrelated complaint against McDaniel saying that she had an inappropriate relationship with a former student. Mahan said the former student is 19 and did not want to cooperate.
Mahan said he will see if the district attorney can make the case in another way.
Llano ISD Superintendent Casey Callahan sent an email to parents saying that McDaniel no longer worked for the district. The email said the district was cooperating with police investigations.
