Four area teams remain in hunt for Little League glory

For young baseball players across the country, the Little League World Series is the ultimate goal.

And for five local teams here in the Big Country, that goal is still within reach.

Snyder 11 and 12 year olds, Wylie Intermediates, Breckenridge Junior's, and the Northern Senior league teams are still playing for a Little League World series berth in their respective age brackets.

And the task of getting there doesn't get any easier. This weekend, the next challenge awaits as the Section 2 tournament in the Metroplex will qualify teams to the Texas West State Tournament -- here in Abilene beginning July 15th at Kirby Lake Park. The winners of state, then head to Waco for the Southwest Regional, with the champion advancing on to Williamsport, and the Little League World series in August.
