Jim Ned High School One-Act Play team wins state championship
ABILENE, Texas - A team of players put on their best performance for a crowd and brought a state championship to Tuscola.
But it's not a sport that's listed on Jim Ned High School's new trophy – it's for the UIL One-Act Play team.
The cast and crew took home the 3A state championship for their performance of "The Miracle Worker." They performed an act from the play -- which tells the story of Helen Keller, a deaf and blind girl who was taught to communicate by Anne Sullivan – Wednesday at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center.
Four other high schools from the Big Country also made the trip to the state championship, including teams from Brownwood, Cross Plains, Hermleigh, and Munday.
