Names revealed of 3 killed in small plane crash near Ranger
RANGER, Texas - The names of the three victims killed in a plane crash just northwest of Ranger Saturday night have been identified.
John C. Weaver, who was the pilot of the plane, Debra S. Weaver, and Courtney A. Weaver have been confirmed as dying in the accident. John and Debra Weaver were from Granbury. Their daughter, Courtney, was from Plano, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Three people have died in a small plane crash in rural Central Texas.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the single-engine plane crashed around midnight on Saturday.
The plane had taken off from Cook Canyon Ranch Airport near Ranger, which is located about 85 miles west of Fort Worth.
The crash happened in a wooded area about three miles northwest of Ranger.
The names of the three people aboard the aircraft were not immediately released by authorities.
Lunsford said the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
