ABILENE, Texas -- A Buffalo Gap woman is accused of stealing more than $41,000 worth of lottery tickets from the south Abilene convenience store where she worked.

Abilene police arrested Kinsley Renee Whitehead, 33, on Wednesday for theft and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest report, the manager of the West-T-Go at the corner of Hwy 277 and Winters Freeway told police that the corporate loss prevention office had been investigating Whitehead since Dec. 29.

The store gave police “documents and video evidence” from the investigation, including an itemized list of lottery ticket serial numbers.

Whitehead is accused of stealing $41,675 worth of lottery tickets.

Police say Whitehead admitted stealing them.

While searching her purse and vehicle, police say they found a brown pouch that contained a mirror with a white powdery substance, a folded dollar bill with a white powdery substance, and multiple clear baggies with a clear crystal substance that tested positive for meth.
