Tye residents back home after gas leak evacuations


TYE, Texas - Tye residents evacuated due to a gas leak Wednesday morning have returned to their homes.

According to Tye police, contractors were replacing gas lines, when one worker hit a new line, causing a gas leak.

Sixteen homes had to be evacuated.

A gas leak in Tye prompted evacuations Wednesday morning.

The Tye Police Department says officers are currently on scene in the vicinity of Nolan and Drummond streets.

Atmos Energy and the Tye Fire Department are also on scene.
