Bangs ISD places signs at campuses warning that staff members are armed
BANGS, Texas —
A school district in Brown County has put up signs indicating some of its teachers are carrying guns.
Bangs ISD placed the warning signs last week at each of its schools in response to the deadly Parkland High School shooting in Florida, according to superintendent Tony Truelove.
The signs read "the staff at Bangs ISD is armed and may use whatever force is necessary to protect our students and staff."
Truelove said he can't reveal who or how many of his staff members are armed.
But the superintendent said the district began allowing some employees to carry firearms after the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook.
