Brownwood man who led deputies on chase sentenced in drug case
BROWNWOOD, Texas - A 29-year-old Brownwood man who led deputies on a chase last year has been sentenced to serve 17 years in prison.
Bryan Rodriguez pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver on June 3, according to the 35 th Judicial District Clerk's office. He won't be eligible for parole.
Rodriguez led Brown County deputies on a chase around Brownwood on July 13, 2015. He was being pulled over for a traffic violation when deputies say he hit the gas pedal.
Before surrendering to officers, he ditched his car and ran inside his own home.
Rodriguez told arresting officers he ran because he possessed marijuana. Deputies found 1.7 grams of marijuana and more than six grams of meth.
