BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Brownwood Jaycees are holding Riverfest 2016 for the second straight year on the Fourth of July.

The event will be held at Brownwood's Riverside Park on Monday. It will go from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets will cost $2 for kids and $3 for adults.

Thirteen bounce houses will be scattered across the park, according to event organizer Amanda Leija. A barbecue cook off of brisket, chicken, ribs, and beans will also be held. Cash awards will be given to the winners in each category.

Several food vendors will be set up to sell food.

In addition, a 100 meter raft race down Pecan Bayou is scheduled for Riverfest. Participants must be willing to build a raft. An award will be given to the fastest raft and for the most dramatic sinking, according to organizers.
