FBI assisting Brown Co. deputies in homicide investigation
BROWN COUNTY, Texas - The Brown County Sheriff's Office has enlisted extra help in working to solve the nearly two-month investigation into the homicide of 25-year-old Chantay Blankinship.
According to the Brownwood Bulletin, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting deputies in finding Blankinship's killer.
Along with the FBI, Texas Rangers are also helping to solve the case of Blankinship's murder. Her body was found on May 15 five miles from the Lake Brownwood home she shared with her grandfather.
Last week, the sheriff's office issued statement saying that they "don't have sufficient evidence to make an arrest on the case."
Blankinship's mother placed posters around the Brownwood area Saturday with information on how to provide deputies with a tip and be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
