Truck driver arrested in Early for meth after driving recklessly
EARLY, Texas - Early police stopped an 18-wheeler that was driving recklessly Tuesday on Early Boulevard, and they discovered the driver had methamphetamine.
Patrick Anthony Lee, 50, of Bastrop was arrested when police found "a meth pipe lying beside the seat and a bag of meth on the floor that the driver tried to hide in the gear shift cover," according to a post by the Early Police Department.
Early police claimed they found approximately 1.5 grams of meth in the truck Lee was driving.
Lee refused to tell officers when he last used the meth, but police claim that burnt residue found on the meth pipe appeared fresh, according to an arrest report.
Lee was arrested for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and taken to the Brown County Jail, where he is held on a $20,000 bond.
