Water levels receding in Brownwood, streets reopened

BROWNWOOD, Texas - Update:Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford said late Sunday that all streets in Brownwood were reopened for use. She added that Riverside and Fabis parks will remain closed until cleaned.

Water levels are subsiding in Brownwood, so city crews are reopening streets that are no longer flooded.

The following streets will likely remain closed until tonight or tomorrow morning: * CC Woodson from Opal to Williams Ranch Rd. * Cordell low-water crossing at Adams Branch * Vine Street Underpass

Clean up of streets and parks will begin Monday and will take at least a week to complete.

"The City of Brownwood appreciates the assistance of the local, regional and state law enforcement, emergency response and public safety entities throughout this extended flooding event," said City Manager Emily Crawford."Additional thanks is extended to the media for their partnership with the city to inform the public of updates and announcements."
