Drone interrupts firefighters battling weekend grass fire in Brown County

Grass fire burned 410 acres near May on May 10, 2017.

The Texas A&M Forest Service says a drone interrupted firefighters battling a grass fire Saturday that burned 410 acres near May.

"An authorized Unmanned Aerial Vehicle entered the airspace over the wildfire," said the Texas A&M Forest Service. "This intrusion forced firefighting aircraft to leave the fire area until the UAV was back on the ground."

An evacuation order was issued for people living east of County Road 406 and County Road 423.

It is one of 15 wildfires the Texas A&M Forest Service responded to over the weekend.
