Abilene man resentenced to 40 years in prison for sexual assault of child

A jury has resentenced an Abilene man to 40 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Ronald Edgar Lee Jr., 37, had previously been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child in 2014.

Recently, the case was remanded back to district court for punishment after Lee appealed his original punishment.

According to court documents, Lee was arrested in August of 2013 and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. The arrest happened after a 9-year-old girl told police she had been sexually assaulted by Lee.

Four years ago, 37-year-old Ronald Edgar Lee Jr. was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
