School board, city council hopefuls respond to Abilene chamber questions

ABILENE, Texas -- The Abilene Chamber of Commerce recently asked the seven candidates seeking four seats on Abilene ISD’s Board of Trustees and the five candidates seeking two seats on the Abilene City Council a few questions.

“The chamber is an apolitical nonpartisan organization," Abilene Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Doug Peters said. "While we do not and will not endorse candidates, we think it’s important to help inform members on what candidates stand for and what level of support they bring to our local economy.

"The chamber encourages every Abilenian to get educated, reach out to the candidates for questions, and understand how their election to office will ultimately impact their quality of life, their job and their future.”

The election is May 5.
