Abilene man indicted for rape of former co-worker

Ethan Taylor Carlile

An Abilene man was indicted Thursday for the alleged rape of a former co-worker.

According to the indictment, the victim went to 25-year-old Ethan Taylor Carlile's apartment in October. She drank several shots of Crown Royal and took a muscle relaxer before falling asleep while watching a movie.

When she woke up, the victim said her pants were nearly off, her underwear was pulled down and Carlile was asking if she was alright and if she knew what was going on.

The victim told police that she did not consent to having sex with Carlile. She also found a recording on her phone of what sounds like her saying "no" and "stop."

Police said Carlile admitted giving the victim alcohol and pills, taking off her pants and having sex with her, but he also said that he "blacked out" and doesn't remember everything that happened.

He is out of jail on $30,000 bond.
