Brown County hosting canned tuna drive for National Night Out
BROWN COUNTY, Texas - As part of Tuesday's National Night Out, Brown County law enforcement will be collecting canned tuna at more than 40 neighborhood parties.
The event happens every year to promote better relationships between law enforcement and communities.
The Brownwood Police Department, Early Police Department, and Brown County Sheriff's Office will be going around Tuesday night to collect donated cans of tuna that will go to Good Samaritan Ministries. The nonprofit provides food to the needy living in Brown County.
Commissioners approved large cuts to Good Samaritan in their recently passed budget, hampering the services the ministry provides.
