Police in Breckenridge warn the public of 'movie money' being presented as actual cash

The Breckenridge Police Department has issued a warning to the public about a wave of counterfeit bills that are being passed around in Breckenridge and the surrounding area.

The Breckenridge Police Department is reporting that multiple people have been trying to pay businesses in and around Breckenridge with $20 and $100 bills that appear to be film props, as the phrase "Motion Picture Use Only" appears on the bills in multiple spots.

In addition to the labels stating that the bills are only to be used as props in movies, the fake $20 notes being presented to merchants appear to display Andrew Jackson with a misshapen nose.

Any people that try to use the fake bills to pay for things could be subject to felony charges and anybody that sees someone else trying to pass the phony bills off as actual money is urged to report any instances of these fraudulent acts to the Breckenridge Police Department.
