SAN ANTONIO – A woman hijacked an ambulance and led police on a lengthy chase.

It all started at about 3:45am early Sunday morning when EMS got a call for medical response at a home in the 7200 block of Timber Creek on the West Side. While they were inside tending to their patient, a woman in her 20s jumped into the ambulance and took off.

She wasn’t hard to spot because she left the red lights flashing. After a report of a woman driving an ambulance erratically down Culebra Street, police started following her.

The chase meandered all over the Northwest Side until police finally boxed her in in the 9700 block of Senisa Springs in Westover Hills.

The woman was arrested and now faces motor vehicle theft charges.
