WACO, Texas (AP) - Waco police are trying to determine who scrawled the threatening words "Die pigs" on the side of a law enforcement vehicle.

Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Sunday that the incident is being investigated as criminal mischief. No one was arrested.

Swanton says a civilian technician parked a Waco police crime scene vehicle near a restaurant Saturday morning and was inside. Swanton says one or more suspects then used a permanent marker to write on the passenger's side of the vehicle.

The incident happened two days after five officers were slain in Dallas during a protest over the police killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Seven other officers were wounded in the Dallas shootings blamed on a sniper later killed by police using a robot armed with explosives.
