Wylie defeats Pleasant Grove, 7-5, to advance to 4A title game

AUSTIN, Texas - No. 1-ranked Abilene Wylie defeated Texarkana Pleasant Grove, 7-5, Wednesday in the Class 4A state semifinal game at University of Texas' Disch Falk Field.

Wylie (31-3-1) now will face Salado (30-11) in the Class 4A state title game. The championship game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Pleasant Grove ended the season with a record of 27-5.

Abilene Wylie is squaring off against Texarkana Pleasant Grove at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Class 4A state semifinal game.

That game is being played at Disch Falk Field on the University of Texas campus.

The winner of Wylie (30-3-1) and Pleasant Grove (27-4) will face the winner of Robinson (29-3) and Salado (29-11) in the Class 4A state title game. The second semifinal game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
