Ron came to KTXS in August 2008. He is from Macedonia, Ohio and hopes some team in Cleveland wins a championship eventually. He wouldn’t be a sportscaster if it wasn’t for his dad handing him a baseball glove and letting him miss the school bus to watch extra highlights on SportsCenter. Growing up, he always loved being creative no matter what he was doing. At Nordonia High School, Ron did the morning announcements and fell in love with adding personality to announcing that turkey and gravy was for lunch. He then went to Syracuse University and majored in Broadcast Journalism and Marketing. There he got experience in sports broadcasting as part of CitrusTV, the nation’s oldest and largest student-run television station. He also had great mentors working at the Syracuse University Center for Career Services. In the summers, he received hands-on experience at his two internships with the sports departments at WEWS and WNBC. In his free time Ron likes telling jokes, reading books, and watching Family Matters reruns.
You never get anywhere in life without people helping you, so Ron would like to thank God; his mother for always encouraging him; old teachers and professors especially his college advisor; his internship mentors; and everyone else that has helped him become a sportscaster. If you have a story idea or a comment for Ron he would love to hear from you.
