Teamwork the key to Lady Loboes' success
CISCO, Texas —
The Cisco girls' basketball team is once again preparing for a playoff run, as the Lady Loboes are in the postseason for the sixth straight year.
Cisco is ranked 16th in the Class 3A Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, and holds a 24-6 record.
One reason why they've been hard to stop this season is the fact that team has no star players. Instead, is how they work as a team that has led to their success.
"We're real together about everything," senior point guard Kentleigh Nichols said. "If one doesn't score, everyone picks them up. If one falls, everyone picks them up and cheers everyone on. Everyone is for everybody."
"Sometimes you'll have teams where there are people that aren't trying as hard, but we don't have that this year," junior forward Leigh Anne Montell said.
Cisco is the third seed out of District 5-3A with basketball powers Brock and Peaster ahead of the Lady Loboes, which are a young group.
Head coach Brent Kilpatrick only has three seniors and three juniors, to go along with seven sophomores.
Cisco will face formidable Jacksboro in the bi-district round on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Azle High School.
