ACU men's basketball seniors were acknowledged pregame Saturday, and for senior guard Reggie Miller, it was a special day.
"[It was] a loving moment," said Miller. "It’s been four years for me so, having it all come to one place at one time. For me, I just wanted to embrace it. I didn’t want to overlook it. I wanted to embrace the moment.”
When these seniors -- Miller, Coryon Mason, Mahki Morris, Paul Heipler and Kolton Kohl -- were being recruited, ACU was not a very good program. Now with three-straight 20-win seasons, this class has left it's mark.
“It was still a vision at that time," said ACU Head Coach Joe Golding. "We were selling them on that vision. We hadn’t done anything yet. And now that vision is reality. You know and I think we’ve now validated ourselves with three-consecutive 20-win seasons. I think we’re one of the best mid-major teams in the country.”
And this success for the Wildcats didn't happen without putting in the time.
“We work hard in practice, outside of practice in the weight room," said Senior Guard Coryon Mason. "In the classroom too. I just feel like ACU deserves it. We deserve it.”
