Abilene man, 19, indicted for drive-by shooting, ramming patrol cars

A 19-year-old Abilene man was indicted by a Taylor County grand jury Thursday for a drive-by shooting and ramming patrol cars.ABILENE, Texas -

Daryl Wayne Cummings Jr. was indicted on one count of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated assault of a public servant.

According to the indictments, Cummings was a passenger in a car that pulled up to a woman on North Mockingbird in April. He pointed a gun at her and fired "shots at her and the people she was talking too.”

On July 4, when police went to arrest Cummings at his apartment complex on outstanding warrants, they say he rammed both of their patrol cars.

Cummings – who was featured as one of Abilene’s Wanted Criminals in May -- is also accused of shooting a man in the leg on Feb. 8.

He’s behind bard on bonds totaling $458,000.
