Abilene Regional Airport reopens after runway thaws
Abilene Regional Airport reopened Monday morning. ABILENE, Texas -
It was closed for 26 hours because of ice on the runway.

Don Green, Director of Aviation, told KTXS they pre-treated the runway with chemicals on Saturday.
“Ice is hard to contend with,” Green said.
The airport closed at 7 a.m. Sunday. It reopened at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Green said the last time the airport closed because of ice on the runway was 2015.
