$14.25 million lottery prize claimed two days before ticket bought in Abilene expired
ABILENE, Texas - The $14.25 million lottery ticket that was bought in Abilene over the summer has been claimed just two days before it was set to expire.
The Texas Lottery Commission says AHSODESKA Trust, Catherine Kim Fowlkes, Trustee, of Abilene claimed the Lotto Texas jackpot prize on Tuesday on behalf of an unidentified winner.
The ticket was purchased at H-E-B on Barrow Street. The winning numbers were drawn on June 17.
HEB was given a bonus check for $142,696.06 for selling the winning ticket.
The commission says the winner has requested "minimal publicity," but says she has chosen to receive one lump sum payment of $10,072,040.86.
