DPS identifies man killed in fiery crash on I-20 in Sweetwater

The Department of Public Safety has identified the driver killed in a fiery crash on I-20 in Sweetwater.SWEETWATER, Texas -

Hector M. Pedroza Guillen, 58, of El Paso was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

GALLERY: http://www.ktxs.com/677837931 DPS said Guillen drifted to the inside lane and overcorrected. His 18-wheeler went through the ditch and rolled onto the service road where it hit a telephone pole and caught fire. 

 

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. at mile marker 255.  

Guillen was hauling office supplies to Dallas. DPS did not know the name of the company or where the truck picked up the supplies.

Eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane at mile marker 255. Traffic is slowed in the westbound lanes because of onlookers. The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. The truck was still burning as of an hour later. The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and the Sweetwater Fire Department are on scene.
