Truck driver killed in crash involving multiple 18-wheelers on I-20 in Putnam
PUTNAM, Texas - PUTNAM, Texas -- A truck driver was killed Friday when his 18-wheeler slammed into the rear of a second semi that had slowed for a third semi parked on the shoulder of Interstate 20 in Putnam.
The accident occurred about 9 a.m. No other injuries were reported.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.

According to DPS, a truck tractor/semitrailer was parked on the north shoulder of westbound I-20.
A second semi was traveling west on I-20, "slowed as it was approaching and passing the parked (semi), and was rear ended by a third (semi)," DPS spokesman Fred Biddle said in a news release.
The driver of the third semi was killed, Biddle said.
