KTXS Forecast: Another cold night ahead
ABILENE, Texas - Temperatures across the Big Country stayed below freezing today, not helping the icy roadways. Delay travel tonight if possible but if you have to get out on the roads, you can check the latest road conditions at www.drivetexas.org.
Roads that were icy today, can expect to still see the possibility of ice tonight. Use extra caution while driving on overpasses and bridges. Temperatures tonight are expected to get down to the low 20s. A few flurries are possible early but by midnight, much of the area will be dry and start to see some clearing skies.
Thursday, winds will turn back to the south and temperatures will warm up slightly. Expect high temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s as the sun works its way out in the afternoon. Overnight, expect temperatures near freezing once again.
Friday and Saturday, expect increasing cloud cover. Temperatures will still warm to the upper 50s.
A very strong cold front is expected on Sunday. A few flurries are possible in the eastern half of the Big Country but confidence on precipitation remains low at this point. Confidence is high that temperatures will plunge to the teens and twenties Sunday night through Monday night.
Stay safe on the roads! -MM-
